Blog Update And Final Character Quality Post On LOVE!!!

Hello Beautiful Friends!!! Today is the last post in the Beautify Me character qualities of Jesus Series!! It seemed only fitting that the last post be on LOVE!! The Bible tells us:

                                                              *Love*

1 Corinthians 13:13 "So now, faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love"

1 John 4:19  "We love because he first loved us"

Matthew 22:37-39  "Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’"

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life"

Jesus Christ is love and everywhere he went he spread love! When Jesus walked the earth he loved others, performed miracles, and did the biggest act of love ever done! He died on the cross to take away our sins and, to give us salvation!! Jesus died and rose again victorious and continues to love us and share his love as he reigns from heaven! If we will only accept his free gift of love and believe that he died and rose again he will fill our hearts with his spirit and we will be given salvation and blessed relationship with him! Not only does Jesus love but he fill us with his love! He puts his love into our hearts when we accept him so we can love Him and love others!! The Bible says we can love because he first loved us!! When we are filled with his spirit we too can spread love wherever we go! We can make every place and every heart different and better than before we came; by sharing the life changing love of Christ and his message of salvation!!! Jesus is love let's follow his example and live in love!! The Word tells us love is the greatest of all the commandments!! We should follow the example of Christ in our love and obedience to the Father as well as in love of others!!! Jesus Christ is the greatest example of Love in fact the word says he is LOVE!!! I am so excited and encouraged the God who was willing to love so selflessly, fully, and without reservation now lives within me through the Holy Spirit and I too can choose to love him and others with all my heart!!! Everyone who has Jesus living in their hearts has the love of Christ surging within them! Let us all shine his love out to others and become more and more like our amazing savior each and everyday!!

Let us choose to invite Jesus in to change us, sanctify us, and make us more like him in character and deed! We can shine his light and his love out into the world to make a difference in his name one heart at a time!! One loving action, kind word, and act of selflessness at a time we can make a difference! Invite God in today to change you, beautify you, and make you more like him!!! In him you are overwhelmingly beautiful, you shine bright, and you can change the world with his love!!

Faithfulness:being good stewards!!!

                                                                   *God is faithful*

God is Faithful; there are countless verses that speak of his faithfulness in The Bible! It is amazing to know that God will never fail us He is completely trustworthy, and supremely Faithful! I rejoice in the truth that no matter how horrible I feel, how much of a mess I have gotten myself into, or how unholy I am God looks at me in Love and he will never leave me!! There is so much joy and encouragement in knowing; that when God says he will do something we can count on him to do it!! The Bible speaks countless times on Gods faithfulness and that can let us know clearly that faithfulness is an important topic to him! He can be counted on, his words are true, he has never gone back on a promise he has made, and he will never let us go!!!

* Psalms 100:5 “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations”

*Isaiah 25:1 “Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago”

*Deuteronomy 31:6 b “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

*2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself”

*Lamentations 3:21-23 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

*Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful”

*Revelation 22:6 a “The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true.”

*God wants us to develop faithfulness*

Faithful, is not just something that God is it is, but it is something he wants for us to be! Faithfulness is a character quality that God wants us to build up in ourselves to transform our hearts to become more like him!

*He also speaks about the rewards of Faithfulness in the Bible*

Parable of the talents (bags of gold):
Matthew 25:14-30
“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’
21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’
23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

When we are trustworthy and faithful stewards of what God has given us it shows him he can trust us with more and so he blesses and entrusts us with more! If you are a Faithful servant of God, a trustworthy friend, a hard worker at your job; it shows God that you care about the blessing he has given you! Your faithfulness in managing what you have already been given shows him that you are someone he can depend on to manage the blessings he will give you in the future in a faithful way that bears fruit!  God promises us in the Bible promises that when you prove to be a faithful steward of the things God has blessed you with he will bless you with more! What an encouragement to us to grow in faithfulness; when we prove faithful with the things he blesses us with he entrusted us with more to manage! That could mean more opportunities to serve God, more friendships, more financial blessing. God can bless you in any way he wills, and when you are faithful with what he has already given you it shows him you are a faithful steward who can be entrusted with more!

God is faithful and will never let us down let’s think about some ways we can live out faithfulness in our daily lives! Being a good friend, keeping confidential things confidential, not gossiping, being loyal and true in romantic relationships, being someone that people can depend on. Be the kind of person that, if you say you are going to do something you do it! Honor God and the people he has blessed you with in your life by being someone they can count on, someone they trust; a person they would describe as faithful!!

I hope you will be encouraged to take up this challenge to build up your faithfulness muscles! I am going to commit to work on being faithful in being on time! Timely-ness has always been an area I have struggled with. Time management is something I know I need to improve in to be person of faithfulness! I want to show God, my friends, and my family that they are valuable to me and that their time is valuable to me by being more timely!

Admitting that there is something that needs to be worked on can be tough but it is also a really freeing experience! When you open up an area of your heart to God; bringing to him something that you need help with, he can and he will help you!!  1 Thessalonians 5:24“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” God will take that piece of your heart and help you grow and be made new and that is really exciting!!
What is an area of your life that you can think of that might need a little tweak; so you can grow yourself in faithfulness?

Prove faithful in showing up when we say we will, being there at the time we say we will, keeping promises that we make, keeping our commitments, doing our best in the work place, putting our all into whatever we are doing volunteering, doing homework, being good friends, working out, taking care of our belongings, being good stewards of our finances, giving it our all in practice or the development of a talent God has blessed us with! Do whatever you do as unto the Lord our God and be faithful stewards of all he has graciously given us!! Let us commit today to follow the example of Christ in faithfulness in all we do!!!

Thank you for reading! Tune in tomorrow for the last post of this series!! I hope you enjoy your day and feel free to check out my beauty blog http://brookehoffmanbeauty.blogspot.com/!!!

Living A Life of Purpose!!!!

Today we are going to talk about living a life of purpose!!

Jesus lived a life of purpose! He came down to earth leaving behind the glory of heaven and trading all of that in for the confines of a human body; all so that he could lay down his life on the cross. He came as the one and only perfect sacrifice and laid down his life to give the gift of salvation to all who believe. Jesus came down to earth with that purpose and he lived every day of his life here on earth set hard fast toward fulfilling his purpose! Everything Jesus did on this earth was done with an aim toward that end purpose! Let’s look at what the Bible says about our purpose; and be inspired to live lives in light of that purpose!!

The Bible makes it clear that the ultimate purpose of all who live on the earth is to bring honor and glory to God and to share his message of salvation with others! Let’s look at some verses on the topic of purpose!!!
*Purpose to bring honor and glory to God*

Matthew  5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

We should seek to live lives that honor and glorify God in our actions, attitudes, and our words. This alone brings God honor and glory just through us living in reverence of him but it gives a double dose of praise honor and glory to God when the way we live our lives shines so brightly it causes others to praise his name too!

                                                      *Purpose to share the gospel*

Mark 16:15 “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Jesus laid down his life on the cross for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins and saved if we put our trust in him! The ultimate purpose we can serve in this life is to share this gift of life with others who do know Christ and his message of salvation!!

*Purpose to Shine for Christ with our spiritual gifts*

Romans 12:1-5 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

It is awesome to think that God hand crafted us each as unique and treasured individuals with our own skill sets, talents, and gifts. It is so special to think that God put each and every one of us on this earth for a special purpose!  That thought makes me so overwhelmed with joy; that God created of the universe, has a special plan and a special purpose just for me! Because of Jesus I get to have relationship with him and I get to be a part of his amazing master plan!!

Think about that for a second; did you know God created you with your talents, skills, quirks, strengths and even your shortcomings on purpose; so you can be a special part of his plan and participate contributing something to this world that only you can!!! God made us for relationship with him, and that means he, as God of all the earth, has invited us to participate! He wants us to do something amazing for him with our lives! Think about your unique talents, your spiritual gifts and what special way you can do something amazing for God with them!! Set out to live with purpose; using all the things that make up you, for God’s kingdom purposes!

1 Peter 4:10-11“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Romans 12:6-8 “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

Living with purpose means living to honor and glorify God and bring others to his saving grace but that doesn't mean we are all made to do that in the same way! God gave you amazing gifts and abilities and equipped you for a ministry that is unique to the person He made you to be! God planned you to be exactly who you are and he has a special purpose for you! Take a look at your spiritual gifts given you by God and think about how you can use them for God’s glory, and ultimate purpose; sharing the gospel.

When we think about ultimate purpose; it is easy to think that must mean being missionaries, pastors, or people working in ministry at the church. These are great ways to serve the Lord and might be the perfect purpose for some of us but the truth is that these are not the only forms of ministry out there. God made you the way you are on purpose and he has a special purpose for you!

Take a second and think about  what your spiritual gifts are, your talents, special abilities,  and personality,  all the unique qualities that God wove together  to make you; you! Try this idea;  grab a sheet of paper and a pen and write down some things you enjoy, things you are good at, talents that come naturally to you, your interests,  things people have told you that they think you are good at….take a moment and think about where you truly shine. Then think about how you can combine those things with ministry and do something great to make a difference in the world for Christ!! Take all that you are and use it to shine for Christ!

For me I made a list of all the things I love and things God has gifted me with and it looked something like this:

Writing,  Bible study, fashion, making people feel good about themselves, fitness, dancing, make-overs, beauty tips, reading, working with kids, encouraging others, shopping, talking.

Don’t be shy just lay out who you are on the page!  Open up and be real with yourself and with God (he already knows your quirks, your sillyness, your most embarrassing qualities) Think about it he made you; he already knows if you have a deep love of boy bands, an obsession with star wars, a love of interpretive dance.  I have talking on my list of talents for goodness sake and if that isn’t an awkward thing to write out I don’t know what is. Just be real, be you, embrace the wonderful person that you are, the special person God created you to be! Own It; be completely you! God can use anybody! God can use you! He wants to use you; he put you on earth with a purpose!! Allow God to speak to your heart and share with you where you can best shine for him!! No matter how silly something might look on the page it isn’t! God made you just the way you are and wants you to use your unique talents to make a stamp on the world in his name that only you can make. Look at all the things that God put together to make you who you are and then together with him start to look at how you can use those things to live with purpose for him.

For me it made since to combine the talents that God gave me to write on studying the Bible, fashion, beauty, and fitness. I write to make people feel good about themselves, to encouraged others, to help make others feel beautiful and be inspired to shine in to the world for Christ’s name! This is my ministry it is unique to me because of the person God made me and it gives me all joy to live with purpose doing what I love to do, honoring and glorifying God, and fulfilling the highest purpose of my life leading others to Christ and sharing the gospel message with them.

I honestly feel that this is where God wants me, what he created me to do, and I love serving him in this way! Would I shine my brightest singing in the choir and making a difference in the world for Christ through music? Absolutely not! My voice makes some of the American Idol audition failures look like Broadway stars. With that in mind I know my voice is not my best tool for touching people’s hearts in Christ’s name. For me my best tool is writing! For you it is whatever God has gifted you with! What is the thing that makes you truly shine!? Take whatever that thing is and get involved shine for Christ in that circle! You are most useful when you are doing something you are good at…the thing God created you to do!

I hope you enjoyed this post and are inspired to shine bright for Christ!!!

Please check back in tomorrow for the next character quality it is going to be a mystery because I’m not sure which one I want to blog about yet ;) also check out the beauty blog for some Spring fitness inspirations!!!  http://brookehoffmanbeauty.blogspot.com/

Serving God! Be the hands and feet of Jesus in your community!

Today’s post is on becoming more Christ like by following his example in serving others!! Christ loved, served, and cared about the needs of people during his ministry here on earth! God almighty, the creator of all, God on high who reigns over heaven and the earth; made it a priority to care for and serve others! If the Lord made it a point to take the time to serve others and make a difference in others lives; how much more should we be moved to go out of our way to serve the community around us!

Matthew 20:28 “ Even as the Son Of Man came not to be served  but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many.”

Jesus has a servant’s heart! There are countless examples of his loving actions, acts of service to others; all with the same goal to point others to salvation.

Check out these amazing verses in scripture that reveal to us the servants heart of our Lord!

                                               *Jesus made meaningful physical connections*

John 13:12-14 “When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet”.

Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, never acted too high up to help someone in need! He is SOO righteous, and yet during his ministry on earth he was always willing to come down to the level of even the lowliest of people and change their lives with the message of his love! Jesus Christ the Son of God knelt down and washed the filthy feet of his disciples! They should have been washing his and yet he took it upon himself to teach them that serving others is how you serve God best!

Matthew 8:2-3And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. “

He healed a leper with one touch! He reached out, touched the leper and healed him. Can you imagine the impact that physical connection would have had on that man! At that time period Lepers were the so called ‘untouchables’ of society. They had to live outside of the camp away from everyone else and when anyone got to close they had to yell “unclean” to ensure everyone knew of their condition. This man had undoubtedly not felt the embrace of human arms for years. Jesus who could very well have just spoken the words and healed him instead reached out and touched the man! Not only did he heal him of his disease but he healed his brokenness and  his loneliness all with one act of love!

Jesus made appropriate meaningful physical connections with others! He served others by showing them how much they meant to him in a physical way. We to can do this; think about someone who may not be getting valuable physical connection from others and make it a point to bless them in this way. Don’t let people slip through the cracks.

An example from my own experience; has been making physical connection with my Nana. My Grandfather died years ago and she now lives alone.  I know she misses him the hugs, the laughs, having her hand held now that she lives by herself. When I think about my living situation and  how many times a day I hug my mom good bye as I am leaving the house or smile as I pass her in the halls it makes me think of how much people who live alone miss out on meaningful physical touch; my Nana included. Having realized that; I try to make it a priority to show her physical affection that she might be missing. I will sit close to her on the couch and watch her favorite shows, reach out and touch her hand, plan special dates to come over and brush and style her hair! All the little things add up and they communicate to her how much I LOVE and value her!

Maybe this week we can all make it a priority to hug a friend, give a loved one a neck massage, visit a widow or divorcee, shake hands with a new person, embrace a child, put your arm around a friend who is sitting alone and invite them over to hang out with the rest of the group, be a shoulder for someone to cry on, or any other idea that comes to mind to show someone they are truly special and convey to them the love of Christ by showing them our love in an appropriate physical way!

                                            *He spoke words of encouragement*

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Jesus spoke words of encouragement to his disciples! He spurred them forward and spoke to them words of affirmation! We should also encourage others! Speak words of love, affirmation, and encouragement to all the people we meet!

Let’s all go out of our way to bless others!  Encourage someone who has experienced a failure, compliment someone for something they do well, speak truth to a friend who is experiencing a difficult situation, say something kind to someone to encourage them and make their day!!

                                                   *He cared about people’s needs*

Matthew 14:14-21When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.“Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

If someone has a need that you are capable of meeting; meet it! Buy someone who is less fortunate a meal, donate school supplies to a local school, help an elderly person with their yard work, or help a sibling do their homework!

*He had an open heart to others*

Matthew 19:14 “Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Serving others doesn't have to be a direct action it can be an attitude! Be a person who is available to others! Be there for people, listen to a friend and open your arms to others as Jesus did here!

Jesus did so many amazing things during his ministry here on earth! As believers of Jesus Christ we are now filled with his spirit and that means that we can continue his ministry while he Reigns in heaven.  We can best serve God by serving others! Be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in your community. Let the light of God’s love shine so bright from within you that it causes people to take notice; to question what it is that makes you so different. That opens the door for you to share the answer with them! Jesus Christ! You can share with others that what makes you so different is your salvation and that you have been made new in the image of Jesus Christ through his saving grace!

Shine bright showing Gods love in your actions, attitude, and all you do!! Share the love of Christ everywhere you go by communicating love to others through your actions. Think of something you can do today to shine the love of Christ into the lives of others!

Action steps

1) Commit to serving God by serving others.
2) Take up a Christ like attitude and live life with a servant’s heart.
3) Be consistent in your actions, attitude, and demeanor to shine Gods love everywhere you Go!

Thanks for reading friends and check back tomorrow for the next character quality post on living with purpose! The BH Beauty post is up for you to check out http://brookehoffmanbeauty.blogspot.com/

Confidence:Valuing others and valuing me!

Hi Friends I am so excited to bring to you today the first character quality post of the series! I hope you enjoy it and have a blessed and beautiful day!!

If we are being completely honest,  I’m sure most of us can say that at one point or another in our lives; we have struggled to feel confident, sure of ourselves, and valuable. Despite the fact that we all desire confidence; sometimes we allow insecurity or false sources of confidence to steal our identities. Today we are going to dig deep in to the Character of Christ and challenge our hearts to see ourselves in a new way... The way He sees us! We are going to look at what God says about confidence and study the confidence of Jesus Christ; so we can view ourselves in the light of our true identities in him!

Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, lived as a person of tremendous confidence while he walked this earth.  Jesus lived a fearless, assured, and confident life!  Jesus Christ, the son of God, made it clear that His confidence was from the father!

Jesus looks at everything from a heavenly perspective and we can too! God is the one true source of confidence; an unshakable foundation, on which to build our lives!! There are so many incorrect sources out there that give false promises in regards to confidence, value, and Identity. Outward appearance, popularity, power, material possessions, relationships all pull at our hearts to bank on them for our self worth, but all these sources are counted on in vain. The only place you can be filled and find true value and confidence is in God! God alone is the source and creator of true and lasting confidence!!  Jesus’ love for us and death on the cross has covered us in grace, and allows us to have full unrestrained relationship with him!! His blood is what gives us undeniable irrefutable value!

                                                   Look at this amazing verse!

Matthew 10:29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”

Wow! It is amazing to think that the God of the universe, creator of it all, loved you and me so much that he knows the amount of hairs on our heads! He loves us so much he was willing to send his son to die just so we could have relationship with him!  Isn't that AMAZING take a moment to think about what that means in your life. You are so cherished by him that he was willing to die for you! Really grab a hold of that truth! That truth is what will translate to confidence in our lives! When we place our trust in God and accept the truth about who he says we are; that is what will give us unshakable confidence. We can fully know that we are wanted, valuable, interesting, talented, smart, fun beautiful people with so much to offer the world! Why? Simply because he says we are!  We are gems in his eyes! You are a one of a kind master piece hand crafted by the king!!

Let us choose to accept the truth about who God says we are, and allow that to transform our hearts; banishing our insecurities and allowing the true person God made us to be truly shine. God says you are beautiful  and so you can believe that to be 100% true. Now live it girl! God loves you and values you so much; and it's time to see yourself through the eyes if his love! Choose today to love and respect yourself!! You are a daughter of the king and that means you are a princess!! We are the adopted children of God; through Jesus death on the cross and that makes us all perfect, beautiful and highly valuable in Gods sight! When he looks at us; he sees Jesus blood, and the transformed you, that is as white as snow!! Please allow the truth of God’s love and who he says you are to penetrate your heart!

Please be encouraged that you can start a journey toward confidence no matter where you are now. The first step is just to place your confidence in God alone!  As an encouragement I want to share a funny story that came to mind while thinking about the topic of confidence.  Once I got a hair cut that was a little too short for my liking and it totally shook up my confidence. I didn't feel confident or feminine; I literally cried about it. (it was a sight to see; ask any of my friends LOL)  Looking back now I can laugh; thinking about how at that time in my life, my confidence was wrapped up in something so inconstant as having good hair.
Image staking your identity, your self esteem, and all you are on something so fleeting. Don’t get me wrong there are always going to be things that shake us up the occasional bad hair day, times when someone says something mean,  when someone gets picked over you, when you get passed up for the job, when you get stood up.  Don’t beat yourself up over little dips in your confidence. When you place your full confidence in God that doesn't mean you won’t experience tough situation that can bring out insecurities but what it does mean is that you will be able to brush them off more easily.  He is sure, trustworthy, and lasting, he is the one and ONLY unchanging source of true confidence!  In him your identity is secure despite what comes your way!!!

Start to transform the way you view yourself today! Choose to accept your true identify in Christ! Live a confident fearless and bold life!! You are valuable because he says you are! Any time you feel the clutches of insecurity trying to swipe your confidence away, let this sweet thought sing to your soul. You are worthy, you are enough, you are highly valued, you are precious in his eyes, you do belong and you have so much to offer the world! The God of all the earth has placed high value on you; own it!!

He loves us so much and when we grab a hold of that it’s hard not to want to share! It is such a joy to soak in the reality that we can place our confidence in the Lord and he will never fail us! He has placed value on our souls and we can trust him to be with us always!  Our identity in him is sure, he will never leave us; he loves us now and will love us forever! He loves us right where we are and will help us become our best!

So why not share that blessed truth with a friend or loved one who might be struggling with self esteem, confidence, and feelings of belonging. Once you catch the fire of Gods life changing confidence, pass it on!! Truly beautiful individuals like our amazing Lord Jesus Christ seek to build up others and not just themselves. When we are sure of ourselves and confident we can show our friends the source of true confidence too. Point others to Christ so that they too can see themselves as God sees them!! When you are confident in God you don't have a need to compete with others  because your security and self worth are placed in The Lord and not things of this world! It is such a joy to build others up! Take the time to make others feel good about them-selves and point them to Christ; so they too can become filled with the confidence that can only come from our God!!

Action steps we can take to become more Confident!!!

  1)   Rejoice in the truth of who Gods says you are and the value you have in him!

  2) Decidedly choose to put your confidence in God alone! Pull up your stakes, on the things you have placed your trust in, that are of the world!

       3) Reboot through-out the day! Do little check in to see if you are placing your confidence in God or in things of the world and make tweaks when you need to.

Beautify Me Series Introduction

I’m finally doing it…I’m starting my blog!! I hope you enjoy this post!! I want to kick things off with a series on my blog’s central theme: becoming more beautiful by becoming more Christ-like!

The series Beautify Me Lord, is all about inviting Christ deeper into our hearts so we can know him more closely, see the truth about his character, and be transformed by that truth into a truly beautiful person for his kingdom purposes!

Beautify me Lord, takes a look at standards of beauty from a worldly sense as well as looking at how beauty is perceived in the eyes of our God! The series seeks to empower women to cultivate true beauty that honors God; the kind of beauty that cannot be lost with age, cannot slip away on a bad hair day, and is unchanging despite what others say!

This blog and this series in particular are especially dear to me because as a woman I know what it is like to want to feel beautiful, valuable, and confident.  Beautify Me Lord is so special to my heart because as a former model and lover of all things fashionable, girly, and beautiful, I know how easy it is to get swept up in the worldly standards of beauty. Who you’re wearing, being on trend, what people think of you, how beautiful you are perceived to be can easily become more important than what truly matters; being beauties in the eyes of God! This series seeks to bring to our attention the truth in scripture; that true beauty comes from within and, that exterior beauty and looking our best is just the icing on the cake!

The series Beautify Me Lord takes us through a look at 5 character qualities of Christ, and challenges us to open our hearts to him; to know him more fully by dwelling on the beautiful person that he is! It guides us through a study on the character of Jesus Christ and shows us the how to’s on developing Christ like qualities in ourselves! We will look deeply at the character and beauty of Jesus; that we might allow who he truly is to saturate our souls; transforming us into his likeness, so we can grow in our faith, confidence, character, and relationships! I am excited to journey together to learn more about Christ, and seek out his truth, about becoming a true beauty!

But what is True Beauty? How can we become beautiful in the sight of God? How can we use beauty to point others to Christ? How can we become the best versions of ourselves to make a difference for God’s Kingdom? Beautify Me Lord seeks to shine some light on the truth about real beauty, give us insight into what God says about it in scripture, and to share with us the tools to become undeniably, unchangeably, radiantly, BEAUTIFUL women of God!!

1 Samuel 16:7 a “God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Tune in tomorrow for our 1st Character quality post!
